WHY SHOULD I HIRE YOU?
Good design is not just about creating a pretty space. It involves a wide range of expertise & technical knowledge. The expertise & training I bring to the project are invaluable. With my many years as a Certified Kitchen Designer & Certified Living in Place Professional, I have an in depth knowledge of the components & elements of design to provide you with a functional, safe & aesthetically pleasing new space. I focus on the overall picture and how you interact with the space in order to tailor the plan accordingly. My goal is to ensure the final design is a true reflection of you!
WHAT PREPARATION CAN I DO PRIOR TO OUR FIRST MEETING?
Begin by compiling a list of what you like and don’t like about your current space, as well as a list of your functional needs for the new design. Gather a collection of photos demonstrating the general atmosphere you’d like created in your new space. It is also a good idea to prepare a preliminary budget for the project. These elements will help us to establish a foundation for our initial design dialogue
DO I NEED TO SELECT MY APPLIANCES BEFORE CONTACTING YOU?
Selecting and finalizing your appliances ahead of time can prove to be limiting in the design phase. If you haven’t already committed to them, we recommend doing some prior research so you have an general idea of the type of appliances you’d like and the finish. During the process, we can work together to narrow down your final selection.
HOW MUCH TIME DOES THE DESIGN PROCESS TAKE?
Each project is unique and the timing of the design process is dependent on the size and scope of the project. A great deal of time and energy goes into the process in order to achieve a successful result. Based on past projects, the average design time for a smaller renovation is 2-3 months & 4-6 months for a larger renovation.
CAN I HIRE YOU FOR DESIGN ONLY?
Yes. With Design Only, we recommend our E-Design services; however, we can do this in-person too.
ARE YOUR SERVICES ONLY AVAILABLE IN THE BAY OF QUINTE AND SURROUNDING AREA?
We are happy to consider projects further afield; however, additional travel fees may apply. Alternatively, you could consider using our E-Design services.
WILL YOU MEET IN OUR HOME BEFORE WE COMMIT?
Our Consultation is a 2 hour in home meeting to help us fully understand your upcoming project. It’s also an opportunity for us to determine if we’re a good fit. If we decide we are, the commitment would follow with a Letter of Agreement.
DO YOU OFFER FREE CONSULTATIONS?
Our first point of contact is a complimentary ½ hour Discovery Call where we can answer some of your questions & discuss how our services can be of benefit to you and your upcoming project.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I EXPECT TO PAY FOR YOUR SERVICES?
The In Home Consultation is $600 + HST . Pricing for the other services varies depending on the overall scope of work and complexity of the project. Your Letter of Agreement will include the pricing for your specific project..
On average, a Kitchen or Bath Design (not including product or installation) is $5000 + HST, Interior Space Planning is $3500 + HST, and Interior Decorating Package for a single room is $3000 + HST. Hourly work is $175 / hour.
For E-Design, a Full Room Design starts at $650 + HST, a Furniture Layout for a room starts at $200 + HST, and a Kitchen or Bath Design starts at $3500
WHAT ARE YOUR PAYMENT OPTIONS?
Email transfers are our preferred method of payment; however, we do accept payment by cheque.
WHAT IS YOUR PAYMENT SCHEDULE?
Payment Schedules vary depending on the Scope of Work & complexity of the project itself. Your Letter of Agreement will specify the Schedule set out for your project. Any Hourly work will be invoiced on a monthly basis.
